Discover the fitness journey of Mrs. Preksha Patel (PP), a strong and optimistic stay-at-home mother who conquered her health goals along with taking care of her family and two young kids.

What were the primary issues that you were facing before starting with the Diet & Nutrition program?

I was 195 pounds initially, which reduced once I started eating well. My sugar levels were high and I had hyperacidity. Also, earlier I used to spend the whole day sitting on the couch, not wanting to do anything due to low energy levels.

How did you get to know about us?

I came to know about Mrs. Jasbir Kaur through Mr. Bharat bhai Patel. He lost a lot of weight through the Diet & Nutrition program. So, his brother recommended that this might be helpful. Initially, I was scared because I am a Foodie. I love eating food as well as making food. So I thought I might be unable to follow the diet. But then I made up my mind to at least try it and hopefully get results.

How did the Diet & Nutrition program help you?

The first thing that came under control was my sugar level. My problem of hyperacidity made me bloat whenever I ate anything. I felt that I could have reflux. Now, I do not have to take my reflux pills every day. Whatever I eat, even if it is a little bit spicy, does not bother me anymore. I started with that, and then the weight loss happened simultaneously.

What kind of challenges did you face in the entire course? How did you overcome them?

When we think about diet or changing our eating habits, we feel hesitant. In the beginning, I felt that following a diet plan is like eating the same bland food every day and I thought I cannot do this as I’m a foodie. But then gradually I realized that the diet provided by Mrs. Jasbir included a variety of soups and different food recipes, Oats khichdi being one of my favorites. Even my little one enjoys the different soups and we have it as it is healthy for us. Another challenge was making three types of food one for my kids, one for my husband, and one for my mom along with my diet food. Thankfully, my mom always helped me in making rotis. And then it got easier. Now I know this is my diet and all I have to do is follow it.

Have you achieved your target weight?

My target was 140, but we have achieved 139.

What is your next goal now?

I wish to be size zero, but that is impossible. So the main goal is to try to stay fit, healthy and most importantly, maintain what I have achieved.

Is there any activity that you could not do earlier but now you can?

Earlier, I got tired quickly and my heels would hurt after walking for just a few minutes. Even sitting on the floor was hard. I could not sit for more than two minutes on the floor. But now, I can sit for 20 to 30 minutes on the floor. I could walk easily too. Along with my exercise, I usually walk seven to eight miles every day.

What message would you like to share with other people going through similar problems or challenges?

Great things never come from your comfort zone. You have to work hard to achieve it. Do not just wish for it, work for it! I always used to think about losing weight, but I lost weight only when I worked for it.

For anyone going through similar problems, I would say this is the best program for them. Mrs. Jasbir is very talented, and her guidance along with all the diet plans worked wonders. There was a point when I weighed more than 210 pounds, and my doctors suggested I go for liposuction to get the surgery done. I was so scared. After seeing the procedures, I decided to keep my weight rather than going through such risky procedures. But I feel so good and confident now. I can eat great food that is healthy and safe. And above all, I am fit and happy.
